Hi All,
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about access to Apple School Manager. Common questions include "Why was my ASM application rejected?” and "Can I move my DEP and VPP accounts to ASM?”
If your school or institution has ever signed up for VPP or DEP in the past, then you are not able to access ASM preview at this time.
I currently do not have expectations for timing on how long ASM will remain in preview, or when the DEP/VPP upgrade process will be widely available.
That said, I think it is important to sit tight for now while the ASM preview, enrollment, and upgrade processes are finalized. Keep using your DEP and VPP accounts as you have.
I will keep everyone posted as to ASM’s preview status, and your ability to upgrade existing VPP and DEP accounts to ASM. Apple Education wants to make sure your migration from DEP/VPP to ASM is smooth! We are taking a conservative approach to widespread ASM upgrade in order to minimize any potential disruption in your production environment. As always, feel free to give me a call or drop me an email if you’d like to talk about this.
Thanks all. ASM is exciting, and Apple presenting it in preview is a new thing to get dialed in.
