In reading what Don wrote I was wondering what he meant, so I looked at my
apple classroom app and it does seem like the classes I’ve created via JAMF
that used to work in apple classroom 2.3.1 no longer work or show up at
all. Were educators/admins notified that MDM created classes would no
longer work as I’m seeing, or is what I’m seeing a glitch.
A lot of time has been spent to set up classes and such and to lose the
ability to use the classes set up in the MDM in some ways is like a blow to
the face. Before I submit feedback though, I wanted to be sure the behavior
I’m seeing is in fact correct in that MDM created classes will no longer
show up.

Thanks Don, this is great feedback that I have escalated in the past.
MDM deployed classes are the best user experience, but teacher created
classes are the ultimate in flexibility - there are plenty of school groups
that aren’t rostered.
If you agree with Don, please send some comments along to

We have components for Classroom and Apple School Manager there.
