Hi Everyone,
In addition to the conference call I will be holding on Wednesday July 13, the following items might be of interest regarding the migration to Apple School Manager.
*********************
Apple School Manager is now rolling out by geography and North America will see it go live this coming Thursday, July 14th.
The “Preview” banner will remain through the summer as we make adjustments and additions to the feature set, but existing Apple Deployment Programs (ADP) enrollees will be presented a dialog on that day to begin their upgrade.
Some important points regarding this upgrade:
• Customers will not be required to move to Apple School Manager right away, but can decide when they’d prefer to initiate the upgrade. While the upgrade process is short, you may wish to set aside approximately 30 minutes to accomplish the upgrade.
• Once the upgrade is complete, you will log into school.apple.com<http://school.apple.com/> from that point forward as access to deploy.apple.com<http://deploy.apple.com/> will no longer be available post-upgrade.
• AppleCare is prepared to support the upgrade process
• The Apple ID for Students program will cease operations on July 30, although any previously created Apple IDs in that program will continue to work as normal.
While getting ready to begin using Apple School Manager, the help pages are available<https://help.apple.com/schoolmanager> for review to understand ASM better, and a preparation document has been created to allow for better experience when upgrading: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206590 Please note the knowledgebase article contains important information to prepare your existing VPP account(s) prior to upgrading to Apple School Manager.
We have scheduled 4 WebEx sessions this week to present the Apple School Manager upgrade process. Feel free to join us in one of the events. These sessions will not be voice interactive, but will allow for Q&A using the chatroom function. Password for all sessions is “upgrade"
