Web Objects - avantages???

Hi! (sorry for my english!!) I'm in web development and I'm considering Web Objects as an alternative to ASP or .Net. But my big question is, what are the advantages that Web Objects have over the other language such as ASP, .Net or PHP??? Also, is Web Object capable of connecting to any SQL databases (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, etc)??? Thanks!!!
