I really like "Beginning Java Objects" by Jacquie Barker, WROX Press
Inc.

It is also a book that teaches you Object Oriented Programming while
using Java as illustrative examples. Not until part 3 she begins
exploring real working applications....the beginning is all about
objects and modelling.
