My client uses Jaguar and is in no hurry to update the server to
Panther. I would like to move my development environment to Panther,
though I will probably wait for 10.3.2
Despite general advice I have found that if I copy my project file from
Jaguar/WO 5.2.1 to Panther/WO 5.2.2 and compile it with XCode (after
fiddling about with java 1.3.1/1.4.1 settings) and then move the
resulting .woa files back to the Jaguar Mac it seems to work without
problems.
Or at least it works as well as in my normal Jaguar-only development
environment :-)
Does anybody have an opinion on the wisdom of moving my work
environment to Panther while deploying on Jaguar? (OS X 10.2.8, not OS
X Server). Have I just been lucky in my test so far? Am I likely to
run into unexpected problems, (ok, some contradiction there) or does my
test indicate that the common "don't do that" advice does not apply to
me?
