How to create a stand-alone clone?

Hi all

I am still quite fresh with WO so I don't need, and I am still not able, to get into details.

Let's suppose a typical context: a very classical contact-order-inventory application running in C/S with WO.
Salespersons need to visit their clients, create new contacts, calculate estimates and edit orders. Therefore they need to have a replica of the C/S application on their laptop.

* It's impossible to do a stand-alone clone application with WO, is it?
* OTOH DBMS like FrontBase can run stand-alone, right?
* The only really workable solution would probably be a remote connection, wouldn't it?
* Is there another dev tool that could use the same code to create a stand-alone clone?

With 4th Dimension the same code can be used for stand-alone and C/S deployment. Yet I think it's probably the only edge it over WO ;-)

TIA

Nick
