I re-installed a fresh OS, Win2K Pro SP3 box, and have the commands. 5.2 was the 2nd install with JDK1.3.1_06 the only prior install. So 5.2 should be installing the commands.

Are you installing over the network? WO has always been flaky for us unless installed from a local CD or with a typical install. We only do local CD typical installs, never do custom. That is all that has worked for us since 4.

Subject: Re: Windows, WO5.2, Bourne shell?
$NEXT_ROOT/bin is in my path, but when I check the contents of
$NEXT_ROOT/bin/... it doesn't contain files for the 'ls', 'grep', or 'make'
    commands, among others.

Comparing two machines I have... it looks like the machine where I manually
deleted NEXT_ROOT is the one that is missing these commands. On another
machine, I ran the uninstall command from the "Add/Remove Programs" control
panel, but it doesn't look like that command actually deletes the
$NEXT_ROOT folder. So when I then installed 5.2, it installed on top of the
existing NEXT_ROOT. That machine has the proper commands inside
    NEXT_ROOT/bin/, and they work.

So it looks to me like 5.2 does NOT install all these commands. Which is
troubling. If you install on a fresh Windows box, you will not have them.
If you install on top of an existing 5.0 or 5.1, without wiping the
previous NEXT_ROOT, then you'll still have these commands and they'll still
work. This whole situation is somewhat troubling, but I'm not sure I
understand it completely. If anyone else could confirm my guesses, that
    would be good.
