By the way Chuck,
I'm using a PC version of WebObjects 5.1.3, but I've just gone into my Mac to look at the wizard there and you would need to follow: File>New File choose WebObjects Display Group component. Next; name the component and then you can choose the Entity, everything else is the same from there.

I want to do a query on the selected item of a popup list

Ok I'll start from the absolute beginning:
In Project Builder I chose File>New In Project and then chose Web Component, after OK I chose component wizard to create a working component with database access.
Next; I chose the entity TbNavPage
Next; I chose the layout: Selected Record and Matching Records
Next; I chose the attributes: visibility, status, navPageName, navPageContent.
Next; I chose the attribute for the hyperlink (navPageName)
Next; I chose the attributes to query on: visibility, status, navPageName. (all are to use this popup we are trying to create)
Next; I chose Finish, the page was now automatically set up.

If you were to follow this you will see a query section at the top of the page and it is here that I am trying to use the popup instead of writing in the query to a text box.

That is waht i am trying to do.

Am I on track now

regards
Jonathan :-)

Let's forget your code and what you think you have to do for a moment.

In non-code terms, what are you trying to do? What are your searching
(which EO)? What are you searching on? What EO is in the DG? How does
your search get executed?
