I'm about to get SQL Server to test with my application, do I need to obtain an adaptor from somewhere or is this simply a matter of entering a string such as that used for openBase ( jdbc:openbase://localhost/TMID2W ), if so what would this be or where do I go to get the adaptor?

Go to the Apple Developer Connection Web site and search for "SQL Server". You should find the info you're needing (and hopefully, learn where lots of WO info can be found).

You'll also need to convert your eomodels from OpenBase to SQL Server external datatypes.
