ClassPath go Bye Bye? [NEWBIE]

  • Subject: ClassPath go Bye Bye? [NEWBIE]

I'm trying to deploy my first WebObjects application, which happens to use
JavaMail. Following the instructions for the installation of the JARs, I
attempted to modify the CLASSPATH system variable on my Win2K box. The odd
part is that the variable was not set. Many moons ago, I remember it being
there when deploying apps requiring the JRE.

Is CLASSPATH still used? Does the fact that I installed the JDK and not the
JRE change anything? Do I need it and, if so, is there anything that can
create it for me so I don't screw it up?

Inquiring minds wanna know... =}~
