This is to be taken as a general rule of thumb, but as experience
proves this cannot always be accomplished. This is the primary reason
that EOF supports stored procedures. Sometimes the business logic,

business object layer in a reasonable timeframe. This forces you to
call the stored procedures from your application. There are other
circumstances where you may want to use stored procedures, but
generally try to avoid doing so.
Thanks to all for their posts - it helps to hear how other
knowledgeable developers view this design issue. Robert, your comment
above helped me to understand the WHY of EOF even having the stored
procedure support in there. I read through the docs and see the
ability to use stored procedures and immediately thought, 'Gee, better
use the stored procedures here then and keep it simple - plus maintain
my speed'.
Everyone's thoughtful explanations have helped me see that I have much
more to learn here about EOF and embrace the new methodology.
Thanks to all responding...Bob
