Yes. If you read between the lines on the Tech Note, that is what it
said. Someone at Apple has confirmed this to me privately.
If you are annoyed about this as me, maybe drop Apple a line somehow.
Wasn't there some email address for WO feedback that was once circulated
on the list by Apple?
[What annoys me is all of these inter-dependent changes. I hate making a
lot of changes at once, it often leads to disaster. But in this case, if
you want to use 5.2.2, you need to switch to JDK 1.4.1. If you want to
use 5.2.2., you need to switch to Panther on OSX. If you want to switch
to Panther, you need to switch to 5.2.2. If you want to transition to
JDK 1.4.1., you need to switch to Panther and 5.2.2. Etc. You've got to
do it all, or nothing (and nothing means missing out on the bug fixes in
5.2.2 too). It annoys me greatly, and I think it's a customer
dis-service to us existing WO users. Of course to a new WO user starting
with 5.2.2, no big deal---it seems to me this new WO user was all that
Apple considered. Existing users need a more graceful transition period
than "Here's 5.2.2, you've got to make a bunch of changes if you want to
use this micro-version increment to get it's bug fixes".]
PS: Goodluck trying to 'downgrade' back to 5.2.1 if you aren't ready for
JDK 1.4.1 yet. You've got to uninstall and reinstall, there's no
downgrade, on any OS.
