Note that I said *at the workstation level*. I've never advocated
using Win2K for deployment. Nor am I arguing that it has a lower TCO
if compared to an equivalent OSX network (assuming no equipment
replacements and staff retraining costs which can greatly affect the
calculation).
I use both. For what I do day in and day out (browse the web, send
e-mail, develop software), there is no significant difference between
the platforms. I don't find OSX any more intuitive than Win2K. For
the most part, with user interfaces intuitive is what you already know
how to use. I don't find Win2K difficult to maintain. I run the
Win2K updater regularly (I'm a LOT more cautious about this on OS X!).
I use a firewall for both machines. I've never been infected by a
virus on either.

I am not that sure about that...
first of all, Win2K should be compared with OSX Server (not with OSX).
secondly, there are services available in OSXS which I never saw in W2K
(at least in its default install).
finally (not to talk about the easer mantainment), OSXS can serve
virtually all OSs (including win and linux) which is not the case for W2K.
