I wanted to reply to this because I have it working.
The issue is I can't draw a picture because the list will eat it, so I'll have to describe it.

1) Web Side Firewall (with NAT) set to block everything, pass port 80 to "Exposed" machine in DMZ zone
2) Exposed machine: Apache, WOAdapter, apache config set to http://exposed-machine1:1085/,http://inside-machine2:1085/,http:// inside-machine3:1085/,... (i.e.: list multiple inside clients)
Exposed machine has wotaskd and JavaMonitor (http://homepage.mac.com/aebecker, monitor.tiff) running.
3) Server side firewall would have (It's just a router now) ports 1085 (wotaskd) and 2001 (the actual application port - see monitor.tiff)
4) Each of the real application servers has a wotaskd, who will, if JavaMonitor is configured correctly, auto start and maintain the applications.
5) No firewall between app servers and DB.

Note wotaskd runs on all machines and so, technically WO needs to be fully installed (runtimes, licenses) on all machines. You don't need apache on the inside machines, but thats about the only thing you don't have to do. You'll need to "know" what port monitor is running on, or force it to a well known port to see it on the "inside". Make sure that the machines have network routes to each other, especially the exposed machine, who needs to be able to "default" to the web, but communicate to the "inside"

Tony.

Hi,
i try to install the WebObjects adapter(CGI) on computer (DMZ)
and to install the rest of WebObjects on another computer.

something is going wrong. please check that and tell me if you find any
wrong.
to simplify i will call the computer in the DMZ as DMZC. the compuer in the
Home Network as HomeC.
all computers are Win2k Computers

1. installed Apache on DMZC
2. gave \\DMZC\Apache\ directory free for HomeC
3. installed the WebObjects on HomeC
during the installation i set
a. WO directory C:\apple (HomeC)
b. CGI-Bin directory as \\DMZC\Apache\cgi-bin (and exactly like this to
install the driver there, DMZC)
c. HttpDoc directory as c:\apple\htdoc\ (HomeC, to keep the software on
the HomeC)
4. restarted both computers

the installation was sucessful, driver and htdoc stuff where in the correct
place.
after installation installing a wo application
1. as host in the monitor HomeC. check if its available by clicking on YES.
successful, i see the settings of Wotaskd
2. add Applcation in the monitor and instance. start the instance. Status of
instance looks fine.
by starting the http://DMZC:1085 i see nothing
because the apache.conf is not at that computer at all.
and http://HomeC:1085 will also not work, cos no apache on HomeC.

any suggestions are welcome.
thank you.
Sako!
