Hardware/Software License Inventory Model?

  • Subject: Hardware/Software License Inventory Model?

  • Organization: Penn State World Campus

In addition to developing WO applications, my group also manages the
purchasing of hardware and software site licenses for our organization.
Currently, we keep track of the systems, who has them, and what software
is installed on these systems through spreadsheets and work documents--as
much as it shames me to admit this.

Since most of our development resources are tied up projects for the
organization, we just have not had time to develop something for this.
Has anyone developed anything for this or know of a sharable WO resource
for this? It seems like an ideal training project--at least a lot more
applicable to our everyday then Pit-saw Pizza ever was.

Thanks in advance.

Robert
