WebObjects as a LIMS

Please bare with me as I am new to WebObjects and have the following
question:  Would WebObjects be appropriate as a LIMS (Laboratory
Information Management System) for a high throughput chemistry
automation laboratory?  Basically what I need to do is manage data for
a fairly defined workflow consisting of a diverse set of automated
instruments.  Your thoughts are appreciated.
