Corrupted .strings files

  • Subject: Corrupted .strings files

Hi all,

I have just run into a problem and I thought someone might have an idea.
It's pretty serious. Somehow, Xcode seems to be corrupting my .strings
files for localisation.

Can anyone tell me, what is the proper way to create these localisation
files? Assume I have none - no .strings files at all. What should I do
first?

Everything was fine, suddenly I can see two funny characters at the
beginning of the .strings files (except English) and the foreign characters
do not appear correctly (as they did before). Also, the colouring has gone
in those files indicating that maybe it doesn't recognise them as properly
formatted?

Has anyone you ever seen this, or know how to solve it? If these files were
large and were to get corrupted like this, I couldn't rely on the built in
localisation.

Help if you can!
Cheers,
Dave.
