NSData storage

Hi,
at present I'm creating a simple web application that needs to store
uploaded files into a database.
I'm using the OpenBase database app that came with the webobjects
developer kit.
I successfully upload the file using the WOFileUpload component.
I then display the bytes that have been uploaded as a test to make sure
everything is working. The file data is stored in a NSData object.
I then call saveChanges() on the editing context to store the NSData
into the database.
This all appears to work and when I bring up a page to view the file
bytes, they all appear correct.
The problem I get is that when I log out and start a new session. The
web app can't read the NSData from the database, although any strings
and numbers I have stored there are read successfully.
I've tried specifying the NSData, in EOModeler, with three separate
external types (varchar/binary/char) to see if that improved things but
it did not.
i noticed that in the database column where I store the f NSData I
always get an 8 digit hex number like "1aaaa000".
Has anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance,
Max.
