*Sigh*. Interviewing is tough. What do they mean by J2EE? Servlets?
EJB? WebSphere? JBoss?

If they don't care about the details of your J2EE experience, why not
count from the first time you read a tutorial on something J2EE
related? So if you read something about servlets in 1997, you have 6-7
years experience.

If they don't care what you actually KNOW about J2EE, that answer is
informative as any other.

Was the interviewer a technical person? I certainly hope not, but if
so, there's certainly a better fit for you out there somewhere.

Best of luck,
