Must be something hosed with Java on that machine, either the registry or
environment variables. My guess is the registry. I've installed WO 5.2 on
several Win2K machines and never had a problem like this. Windows machines
are kind of nasty in that there can be several installs of the exact same
JDK/JRE, not to mention multiple installs of other versions. My advice
would be to uninstall and scrape off every last vestige of every single
Java install that you can find, even going so far as to scrape out the
nether regions of the registry. Then re-install Java 1.4.1 (not 1.4.2!)
and try again. And make sure you are logged in as an administrator when
installing WO.

That page goes into a lot of detail on how to dig yourself out of most any
hole. Great information, but not really relevant for a straight install.
It should just go.
The IIS installation part is a different story and do pay attention to the
part about securing the server.
