One of the big selling points of Java is its cross platform compatibility.
To have development in WO limited to one platform is counter productive to
expanding the usage of the tool. Of course, so is never advertising it...
...and whomever thought up that plan did a good job in making it the most
sort after secret weapon in the development community.

On Thursday, Jan 15, 2004, at 10:13 Australia/Sydney, Gavin Eadie
replied: or, you could say, "judging by the support of WOLips
and the fact it exists, there is *NO* need for WO tools on other
platforms" ... I'm not making any value judgement, Mac vs PC, except to
say the existence of WOLips provides no incentive for Apple to enhance
its PC tools.

Your replies have been enlightening to say the least but it's still
frustrating that no Apple represetitive will give any indication as to what
is happening with the PC platform. As Jonathan R. said, "...from watching
what Apple does, participating in WO communities, attending the last WWDC,
etc... ", he came back from WWDC with the distinct feeling that he ought to
switch to OSX as soon as possible and has." Is this really going to be the
way to go with the only true alternative for PC developers to use the WOLips
team's equivilent?
Looks like I'm heading for WOLips then...
Come on Apple say something will yer. Or if anyone knows someone there, dig
them for some info would you and let us all know what the hell is what in
this regard.
