I'm pretty sure it was "end-of-lifed" at OS 10.1. That was the last
level of OS support for it. You can either stay there or move to
Java. We ported several projects to Java. There is (or was) a set of
conversion scripts for this. All in all it was not too bad, other
than the Java part. ;-)
