Hello world,
will applications built under WO 5.2 still be deployable on a 5.1
machine (assuming, of course, no 5.2 features like Web Services are

I believe the official answer is no. If you compile against 5.2.2
frameworks you must run against 5.2.2 frameworks - or should that be
Java 1.4.1
The unofficial answer from some sources is "how lucky do you feel?"
In my case I have found that I can move my project from Jaguar/WO 5.2.1
to Panther/WO 5.2.2, recompile and then deploy on a Jaguar/5.2.1 system
with no ill effects.
Wait... you are asking about 5.2 on 5.1, not 5.2.2 on 5.2.1? If you
really mean 5.1 then my experience may be less relevant.
I have a new G5 development system, equipped with Panther. From what I
know, I need to install 5.2.2 on that machine. However, I still need
to deploy to several 5.1 machines from certain technical reasons.
Or, ... will 5.1 install fine on Panther?
No, I don't believe so.
