Any ideas? It seems to me I've also seen some EOF problems with 5.2.2 talked about on the list, so I guess they'd apply regardless of deployment platform. Hmm, maybe I'm better off just sticking to 5.2.1 (which means I can't put Panther on my dev machines, alas) until a 5.2.3 or something is released.

FWIW I am developing on Panther and deploying on Jaguar. I tested this out gingerly at first because the official advice was that it would not work, or at least not reliably. I think it is likely that I can get away with this because I don't use every possible piece of the API. Other apps may strike problems. I've kept one of my two development Macs on Jaguar just in case I have to move my development environment back. Reports of this list do not give any confidence in uninstalling Panther/Xcode/5.2.2. I am hoping to move the deployment environment to Panther, at which point I will be able to have both my dev Macs on Panther.

I hear some rumblings here about Panther deployment, so I'm a bit nervous about persuading my client to update from Jaguar to Panther. It's hard to tell from the list whether the Panther WO deployment problems affect 100% or only 0.1%. Understandably the folks who upgrade without problems don't bother to post messages.
