Seems that a dump of the database fixed it. Don't know what went wrong
but is all working now.

Just a quicky regarding the commandments, with regards to #1. Why
should you not put stuff in the initializer of the an EO?
How can you get the ip address of a request? I tried looking through
the headers, but there is nothing there.
