Dynamic Template used for Generation of Page

Hi,
I am currently trying to design a flexible custom reporting system for my WO app. What I currently use is FOP for the report generator with a heap of WOComponents with the report layouts. What I am now planning is to put all the report templates into a table in the database, so that they can easily be modified by the user. I know how to implement the flexibleness of the editing of the reports, but I am unsure whether I can pass a generic report component the contents of the report layout and use it to generate the report.

For example:

A generic report component for listing a customers sales history would setup the EO's with the necessary qualifiers to display the correct data. The report component would then get its template(html file) and the wod file set from the database so that it can render the report.

Basically what I am asking is there a way to intercept the rendering of a component so that I can insert my template and wod file from the database?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Greg
