Never underestimate the simplicity of the UDP midget :)
I implemented a multicast-based concurrency control system. It was a
lot of fun!
The only issue I ran into was that Cisco LocalDirector has a
vanishingly small UDP buffer. Under heavy load DNS stopped working
because the multicast traffic consumed all the buffer space.
