reading backward the Practical Webobjects Bible, I realize that there is no clear cut to it.... EOJDBCPrototypes is the ONLY one to be used.... I never used the older EOModeler but it seems that 'old way' was good... so I going to introduce the EOJDBCPrototypes updating by code... supplied in chap 2 !!!
