Passing values from a "regular" WO component to a DG

  • Subject: Passing values from a "regular" WO component to a DG

I tried to pass some values from a regular WO component to a WO DisplayGroup component, and it repeatedly fails.

I can pass values to and from other "normal" components without a problem, but WO just seems to refuse any combo between a regular component and a DG. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that I chose a list/paginated combination DG, though I only show a single record at a time. I figure WO can't understand which of these (DG) pages (one for each record) to send the values to?

I basically have a Main component, a search component, a "add new record" component, and a component that lists all records with a link in their WORep for display; when the link is clicked the full record appears (almost like a DG) and the values are passed to an "editing" component for changes and saving (same with the search component).

If I could pass values from a regular component to a DG, most of my problems would disappear.

Any ideas or workarounds?

-jeremy
