Now this is really strange.  I did what you suggested and then ran the app
and bingo - it started working without DirectConnect!!  Too weird.  So, I
don't know what the deal is, but starting wotaskd by hand seems to have
definitely helped.  Perhaps it just took the app a minute to figure out that
it was running?  Don't know, but I've learned something more at least;-)  I
did set up the logs as you suggested, but nothing in there.  I guess with no
errors there's not much to say.  Thanks AGAIN Chuck.
