Why don't you create another entity off the same table and create a
relationship to your main entity? It might cause havoc when creating
new rows though...
I've often created entities that were used for read-only situations
that played around like this. We had one entity that was used for
creation that had all the attributes normally, then 'pared down'
versions to improve performance where necessary.

Is it possible to set up an EOEntity such that some attributes (not
relationships) can be faulted? For example, say I have a database
table that
has several regular columns in it (varchar, numberic, datetime). If
that
table also has a CLOB type of column it would be desirable to be able
to
fault that attribute to avoid having to retrieve it anytime I needed
the
other attributes of the EO. I know I can do something similar by
creating a
separate table to contain just that attribute. It would be helpful to
be
able to mark an attribute as a fault in the EOModel. Seems like it
should be
pretty trivial for EOF to not retrieve any columns marked as faults
unless
the attribute is expressly accessed.
Thanks in advance
