Do you REALLY want to do this?
Now if you do, you could map the attribute but not mark it a class property. You may then fetch its value on a as-needed basis using a raw row fetch specification.

Subject: Faulting Attributes of an Entity?
Is it possible to set up an EOEntity such that some attributes (not
relationships) can be faulted? For example, say I have a database table that
has several regular columns in it (varchar, numberic, datetime). If that
table also has a CLOB type of column it would be desirable to be able to
fault that attribute to avoid having to retrieve it anytime I needed the
other attributes of the EO. I know I can do something similar by creating a
separate table to contain just that attribute. It would be helpful to be
able to mark an attribute as a fault in the EOModel. Seems like it should be
pretty trivial for EOF to not retrieve any columns marked as faults unless
the attribute is expressly accessed.
Thanks in advance
