Thanks for the pointer on D2*, I knew it is really powerful and I remember reading the article on stepwise, just wasn't able to get into it...
but maybe it's time to invest some time in it.
I'm pretty sure I'll do this one without, but it's nice if I can get to look at it more deeper.

To make one thing sure: you can use D2W with just the assistant and be perfectly happy, although it's not very likely unless your requirements are rather simple. At some time in the past, I was working rather hard to make this possible with D2W/PW - but YMVV.

In the real world, you will need to invest quite some time to get and keep things working at least until you understand what is going on in your app.

Again: D2W has two levels, one being the clicky-thing (which really doesn't work very well) targeted at beginners and the other one at *large* low-maintenance scale apps targeted at rather experienced developers.

For me, before I was starting out with PW in 2001 (when it didn't even compile), I saw the presentation from Max Muller about NetStruxr and I just *knew* that this was how web-apps should be made and *every* effort that I would put into it would be well justified.

PS: if I remember correctly I can mix D2 and regular application, just by importing the frameworks and package?

Basically, there is no "D2WApplication". To benefit from D2W, you just link to the respective frameworks and drop the components in your pages.

Cheers, Anjo

PS: from what I see, in-depth experience in PW/D2W is a rather sought- after asset in certain circles, so if you are in the states and are not set to making your own way it might be a venue to pursue (if it's not regarded as some sort of entrance test, like "if you can wrap your head around WO *and* D2W *and* PW, you can handle just about anything")
