Hi list,
i have 4 webobjects applications installed on my xserve with 10.4.2.
I run ftp, mail, OD, Web and WebObjects on this machine.
My ISP routes “sponsoring.mydomain.de”, “services.mydomain.de” and
“www.mydomain.de” to my server on port 80.
In admin tool i have configured the “default site” pointing to a
login-application, started through “index.html” in document root.
It starts the application with “http://myIP/cgi-bin/WebObjects/
myApp”. It responds to “Any” at port 80.
My three others sites are configured with their name and have their
own “index.html” in their own directory on another volume.
They each start the corresponding application with “http://myIP/cgi-
bin/WebObjects/myApp”. They respond to “Any” at port 80.
All 4 sites have one alias “*” (which is default?)
On all sites there is only “performance cache” activated, all other
settings are defaults.
webperfcache? You definitely do NOT want web performance caching
with a dynamic web app. Turn that off.
Chuck
The problems are:
1. When i enter any of the site names above it always starts the
“default sites” application, not the requested one
2. When i disable the “default site”, my stylesheet and other files
are not served by the webserver, the same when i change the order
of the sites in admin.
There is no difference, if the sites are configured to the IP of
the server or to “any”.
On the other hand, i can start all my applications with “http://
myIP/cgi-bin/WebObjects/myApp”.
Questions:
Do i definitly need the default site?
What is the required order of the sites in admin tool?
Do i have to change the alias?
What do i have to change so that apache responds correctly to the
site names?
Thanks to you experts
Wolfram
