Getting past ISDOWNGRADE error

  • Subject: Getting past ISDOWNGRADE error

I had Xcode 2.0 and WO 5.2.4 installed on my laptop, but I wanted to find out if I could run Xcode 2.2 without upgrading WO to 5.3. I foolishly decided to remove what I had already installed and do a fresh install of Xcode instead of an upgrade. So I did the following:

- uninstalled WO
- uninstalled Xcode
- installed Xcode 2.2
- installed WO 5.2
- installed WO 5.2.4

At this point the WO 5.2.4 install failed with an "ISDOWNGRADE" error. I figured that something in Xcode 2.2 was conflicting, and that this wouldn't work. So I went though the above steps again, except this time I installed Xcode 2.0. And got the same error. I guess my uninstalls (using the WO uninstaller and the uninstall- devtools.pl script) didn't get rid of everything.

Any suggestions on how to clean this up, or am I better off reinstalling Tiger and starting over?

Thanks in advance,

janine
