I had Xcode 2.0 and WO 5.2.4 installed on my laptop, but I wanted

I foolishly decided to remove what I had already installed and do a
fresh install of Xcode instead of an upgrade. So I did the following:
- uninstalled WO
- uninstalled Xcode
- installed Xcode 2.2
Did you by chance install WO 5.3 with Xcode 2.2? WO 5.3 is not
installed by default, but is an optional install.
- installed WO 5.2
- installed WO 5.2.4
At this point the WO 5.2.4 install failed with an "ISDOWNGRADE" error.
I see where this is occurring in the WO524Developer.pkg/Contents/
WO524Developer.dist XML file. But I don't understand why the
installer thinks that a downgrade is occurring.
I guess my uninstalls (using the WO uninstaller and the uninstall-
devtools.pl script) didn't get rid of everything.
That's my guess. Uninstalling correctly can be very difficult. You
might want to look in /Library/Receipts for anything suspicious.
However, the WO 5.2.4 installer probably wouldn't have known about
the WO 5.3 installer package receipts, so it's probably not looking
for such receipts.
I tried to downgrade an Xcode 2.2/WO 5.3 partition to Xcode 2.1/WO
5.2.4 and failed (I believe the downgrade installations appeared to
succeed, but runtime errors occurred). I ended up wiping the
partition clean and reinstalling OS X, Xcode 2.1, and WO 5.2.4.

Art
