If possible, i would update them to 5.2.x for deployment.
One big limitation of 5.0 and 5.1, is that it really doesn't have concurrent database access.
We found this one out the hard way. You can create as many actual db channels as you want, and everything will be blocked at the EODatabase level.
This was not fixed until 5.2.
