Hi PA,
Just FYI, I used EOF binary keys with MySQL on a project a couple of years
ago. Admittedly the company ran out of money and canned it before we got to
production, but I used 24-byte BINARY fields in the database without
encountering any problems prior to that stage. While I was developing and
testing, they seemed to serve the purpose perfectly well and were returned
as NSData keys when I retrieved them from the
EOKeyGlobalID.keyValuesArray(). Perhaps later driver versions cause this
problem?
Cheers,
Igor

In a nutshell:
- PostgreSQL, beside being a pain to install, is a pain to use (oh why,
oh why, oh why are identifiers case insensitive by default?!?!?)
- MySQL? Ever heard of binary keys? Apparently not [1].
- FrontBase? Does that still exists? :o)
- Sybase and Oracle. Solid. Just Work (SM). Need a stelar team of DBAs
to keep them running smoothly.

Why don't you write one?
Cheers
