Status of Windows support

Can someone tell me about the status of Windows support for WO
development generally, please?

For example, are the development tools on a par with the OSX  tools; are
there issues in development or deployment created by the cross-platform
work, etc? Any feedback at all and outrageous opinions generally :-)
would be of interest.
