Get a good mouse :P ! But as for palettes, I am also against. They
*always* get in the way (at least in my case, where I don't have a 30'
screen).
Stick with default setup and allow 'Customize Toolbar' to bring back
the UI with the lined up icons if they like.
Exactly.
That follows suite with the rest of the platform.
It's simple. But leave the three tabbed button element for switching
between views. that's much easier as the old style, having to click to
see a Pop-up of the views and select one was surely UGLY !
Option+Shit+L, Option+Shift+S gets darn handy as after about ten
usages. But let them make those buttons optional too. In fact, make it
all customizable for us. Period. It ain't *such* a job to do it that
way.
Single clickable interface is definitely quicker. (Hot Keys are BEST!)
You see what's available immediately and have access to it with ONE
click, boom it's in your layout.
One more thing... We are not talking about Pages here or iTunes or
something that needs to be nice and flashy and in proportion because
otherwise millions of users will subconsciously be uncomfortable. We
are talking about an interface that is there to be FUNCTIONAL as a
first priority. For non-wide-consumer apps (such as WOB), and
especially IDEs and such I think first-look-user-friendliness should
come in second to long-term-usage-comfort...
