Sounds like your connection dictionary is horked. try using emacs etc
on the index.eomodeled file and see if you can get it back into shape.

I just helped someone fix a connectivity issue with a 5.2.x project
migrated to 5.3. When attempting to connect to the database, a
class cast exception was thrown. This was causing by something in
the connection dictionary. Deleting the jdbc2info key from the
connection dictionary fixed the problem.
Has anyone else seen this?
