I just noticed that http://www.apple.com/webobjects now refers to
WebObjects 5.3.
I've been following the discussions on this list about the licensing
for 5.3 with a great deal of interest, and more than a little
confusion and frustration.
The consensus seemed to be that deployment was only supported on OS X
10.4 server, but that there was no reason that a properly licensed
application, built as a self-contained .war, shouldn't run on any
J2EE servlet container.
But then, IIRC, there was a post to this list saying that deployment
licenses for WO 5.3 weren't actually being shipped with OS X 10.4
server...
Argh! :-)
I'm new to WO development, trying to get my first project deployed,
and I need to know what to tell my client about licensing, and what
they have to buy. Could someone (Apple?) please clarify? Please?
TIA
Jarvis
