I felt the same way about WOBuilder back in the WO 3.1 days when I
started with WO, and always edited the files directly, but somewhere
around WO 4.5 I gave it another chance and currently am pretty happy
with it. I even use it when I occasionally want to do something not
supported by the GUI mode by switching to its text file mode.
That said, I do agree that my html and wod files were cleaner and
easier to read when I was coding them by hand. ;-)

Mark

wow - I'm surprised people actually use WOBuilder.
I gave up on it a long time ago - starting writing the .html / .wod
files by hand.
Much faster, much more control over names of the WebObjects tags.
Not to mention that it totally can't handle WOComponentContent and
doesn't know what do with
<webobject name="fooBarString"/>
vs
<WEBOBJECT NAME="fooBarString"></WEBOBJECT>
