Should this cause data to be refreshed from the DB if more than 5 mins has
passed? It doesn't seem to work. The situation is that I have two apps. One displays info, the other updates
it.

Hello David;

I haven't utilised that myself so I can't comment, but there are a few other options too. Strategic use of "setRefreshesRefetchedObjects(...)" on a fetch specification will drag fresh data into the fray as needed and you can go more 'automatic' and use a "change notification" system as well. Check out the change notification framework in "Project Wonder" to get more of an idea about how this stuff works.

Different projects call for different approaches -- useful knowing what options you have.

cheers.
