Yes. JSON-RPC provides a servlet handler "out-of-the-box":

That said, what would be more interesting, beside a more solid
implementation, would be a set of (WO)Component that seamlessly
leverage such a setup. Perhaps in WebObjects 6+ :P
On the other hand, one is trading one PITA (Java/Swing) for another
(Javascript). Oh, well...
