I'll bet that you could contact Apple's Public Relations office and
ask them.  They should be more than happy to give you an estimate,
since they definitely track the number of Developer Connection members
who claim to be Java developers.  Occasionally they'll toss a figure
into a press release, but I didn't see any recent ones after look for
ten seconds.
