And if it only does not work from WO, there may be restrictions in DB2
on using bindings with these functions. Plugin time! :-)

This is related to my other question where I was using
CaseInsensitiveLike, I got around that one
by just using a straight SQL call as I was only testing for existence.

an UPPER in the SQL. However, if I cut and paste the generated sql
from the exception it will work?!!!!
In the vague recesses of my memory, I barely recall something about
the DB2 JDBC driver not liking the UPPER function on certain data
types. IIRC, we eventually just used a collation.
