hi guys,

of course, you are all right.
i just throw my tantrums.

i am sick and tired of having three partitions running from 10.0.1 to 10.4 to support all the legacy apps from WO4.5 till now.
why upgrade, well, boxes break and it's not always easy to find a replacement to actually run those 4.5 apps!
is it so hard to make a recompile stick? i understand if you use a gazillion libs from jakarta or whatever, but, shouldn't the vendor of a tool sort of guarantee that there is an upgrade path.
oh wait, this is a vendor that actually changed language and removed functionality and called it an upgrade?
silly me.

i'm not really that bitter, wobuilder and eomodeler (thus far) run on tiger extremely well, maybe the old code base has finally been reintegrated?

later

cornelius

This is a very, very, *very* bad idea. You should definitely use the same dev- and deployment platform, otherwise debugging and tracking down strange errors will be an absolute nightmare.

Cheers, Anjo
