Thanks for the reply. It is a permissions problem. If I change launchd
params to launch as root, it launches.
FWIW, I changed ownership on the wotaskd.woa directory and all of its
children to appserver:appserverusr but that wasn't good enough. I
still have to launch as root. Obviously I'm missing something else
that needs permissions changes.
Under the kitty before Tiger, you had to have the setuid bit of wotaskd
set:
-rwsr-xr-x 1 appserve appserve 10K 13 Sep 02:46:27 2003 wotaskd
^ this "s" means setuid
That will force wotaskd to run as user appserver. Just changing the
ownership is not enough.

Can you launch it from the command line? Can you launch it as the
appserver user?

I've upgraded to Tiger and installed 5.2.4. System logs say wotaskd
exits with code 1 after attempted launch by launchd.
Anyone got an idea, please? What do I need to repair for example?
Thanks
